Privacy Policy for Text Processing Lab
About this policy
This policy describes the data handling supported by the current Text Processing Lab application and its Store description. Developer: Satok Hardware. Privacy contact: info@satok.site.
Data you use in the app
Text Processing Lab processes text on your device. This includes text you type, paste, or import from a UTF-8 text file, and text used for editing, formatting, cleanup, counting, comparison, search and replacement, and regular-expression tools. Text may contain personal information depending on what you enter.
The app automatically saves your current draft and title, saved documents, reusable templates, processing history, and editor preferences locally. Saved records include names, text, locally generated identifiers, and timestamps. Processing history includes document names, operation names, and before-and-after text. Preferences include font size, line wrapping, and export line endings.
The inspected implementation does not send this information to the developer or an app-operated server. It does not require an account. No analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, or remote text-processing integration was found in the inspected application.
Why data is processed
The app uses your text to perform the tools you select, preview and apply changes, calculate text statistics, compare texts, and provide undo and redo. Local storage lets you resume a draft, manage documents and templates, restore earlier text from processing history, and retain editor preferences. These text-processing features work offline.
Clipboard and file access
When you select a Paste control, the app reads text from the system clipboard. When you select Copy, it places the selected text or result on the clipboard. Clipboard content is then subject to your operating system's clipboard behavior.
On Android, importing uses the system document picker to read the file you choose. Exporting uses the system document picker to write a plain-text file to the destination you choose. If you choose a cloud-backed file provider, that provider may handle the selected file under its own privacy practices.
Sharing, third-party software, and permissions
The inspected app contains no automatic transmission of your workspace to third parties and no functionality for selling your data. Copying and exporting are actions you control and can place text outside the app's local storage.
The app uses Android and Kotlin/Compose software components for its interface, local processing, and platform functions. No third-party advertising or analytics SDK was found in the inspected dependencies or source.
The Android manifest declares Internet and advertising ID permissions. The inspected application code does not use these permissions to transmit data, retrieve an advertising ID, or display advertisements. The presence of a permission alone does not establish that data is collected.
Android backup
The Android application allows operating-system backup. Depending on your device settings and Android's backup and restore behavior, locally stored workspace data may be included in system backups or device transfers. These processes are controlled by the operating system and your backup settings, rather than an app-operated server.
Storage and security
On Android, the workspace is stored in the app's private SharedPreferences storage. The inspected implementation does not add application-level encryption to this stored workspace. Its protection depends on Android's storage protections and your device security.
No app-operated network transfer of workspace data was found, so there is no such transfer for which to describe encryption in transit. Transfers performed by a file provider or operating-system backup service depend on that service. No storage or security method can guarantee complete protection.
Retention and deletion
Drafts, saved documents, templates, and preferences remain locally stored until you change or delete them or clear the app's data. Processing history retains up to the 100 most recent applied transformations, unless you clear it sooner. Undo and redo maintain temporary editing state in memory.
You can delete documents and templates from the Library and use Clear history to remove processing history. Deleting a document does not automatically remove copies that remain in the current draft, templates, or processing history. Clear the relevant copies or clear the app's storage through Android settings to remove the local workspace.
Clearing app storage does not remove files you exported, clipboard copies, or copies held by external file providers or system backups. Manage those copies through the relevant device controls or provider.
No developer-held workspace or server-side deletion request feature was found in the inspected implementation. The developer cannot remotely delete workspace data stored only on your device.
Browser preview
If you use the browser preview, it saves the workspace in that browser's local storage. Clearing the preview site's browser storage removes that local workspace. File import and export are available in the Android app; the preview instead provides text pasting and copying. This policy does not establish how any separate service hosting the preview handles connection information.
Children's privacy
Text Processing Lab is described as a general productivity tool. The supplied information does not establish an intended age group or a child-specific service. The inspected application contains no account registration, age collection, advertising integration, or mechanism for transmitting children's text to the developer. Text entered by any user is handled locally as described above.
Policy changes
This policy should be updated when the app's functionality or data practices change. Review the policy made available with the version you use for the latest description of those practices.
